Huawei watches use standard quick-release spring bars on most models, which means band shopping comes down to one number: the lug width. Get that right and your options are wide open.
20mm or 22mm
Huawei bands are sold by width rather than by model name, because several watches share the same size. The slimmer models generally take 20mm, and the larger GT and Ultimate-style models generally take 22mm.
Take the current band off and measure the gap between the lugs with a ruler. Measure the gap rather than the band, since bands are usually cut a fraction narrower than the space they sit in. You are only distinguishing 20 from 22, so precision is not the issue.
A small number of Huawei models use their own fitting rather than standard spring bars. The product page will say so, so check the fit list if your model is not named.
Why standard fittings help here
Because most Huawei watches take ordinary spring bars, a 20mm band made for a Samsung Galaxy Watch, a Garmin Forerunner or a generic watch will fit.
That is worth knowing, because the Huawei-specific aftermarket is smaller than Samsung's or Apple's. Shopping by width rather than brand gives you far more choice in materials and colours.
Matching the band to the watch
Huawei's round watches, particularly the GT range, have traditional proportions and a proper bezel. They carry leather and metal better than most smartwatches, and a link bracelet or a wide leather strap looks deliberate rather than like an aftermarket compromise.
The slimmer and squarer models suit narrower bands, where a chunky strap fights the case shape.
Choosing a material
Silicone is the everyday default: sweat, showers, swimming, easy to clean, comfortable for sleep tracking.
Woven nylon is lighter and more breathable, and better for long wear in heat. It dries more slowly than silicone after a swim.
Leather is where Huawei's round models shine. Keep it dry, since leather stiffens and cracks with repeated wetting.
Stainless steel and magnetic mesh give the most formal finish. Mesh adjusts to any position along the band, which is its practical advantage over a link bracelet.
Changing a Huawei band
Turn the watch over and find the small lever on the spring bar inside the band. Slide it toward the centre of the band and lift that end away from the case.
Fit the new band by seating one side of the spring bar in its lug hole first, then sliding the lever so the pin drops into the opposite hole. Tug each half gently afterwards to confirm it has seated.
No tool needed for quick-release bands.
Fit and heart-rate accuracy
Huawei watches read heart rate optically from the wrist, and that depends on steady skin contact. The watch should sit snug about a finger's width above the wrist bone.
Too loose and the sensor reads motion rather than pulse, which shows as readings that lag behind your effort or spike during intervals. Too tight restricts blood flow and skews them the other way.
Huawei watches are known for long battery life, which means many people wear them continuously rather than charging nightly. That makes comfort and cleaning matter more than on a watch that comes off every evening.
Care
Rinse silicone and nylon with fresh water after pool or ocean use. Chlorine and salt shorten the life of both, and residue trapped between band and wrist causes most of the skin irritation people blame on the band.
Let nylon dry fully before wearing it again, and give a continuously worn watch an hour off each day if you can.
