Getting started
Ready-to-run models arrive assembled. Some assembled boats need a separately purchased boat battery. Almost-ready-to-run (ARTR) models need additional equipment and setup; builder kits need assembly. Check each model’s included and required lists.
Compare the stated hull or overall dimensions with your launch area and storage space. For kits, check every selected package: an impeller choice or electronics option can change what is included.
Start in calm, clear freshwater with a safe retrieval plan. Keep the intake clear of debris. Disconnect the battery and dry the boat after use, following the manufacturer’s care guidance.
Before you head out
A pump draws water through the hull intake and pushes it out through a nozzle to propel the boat. Ready-to-run models include their drive system; builder kits may require a suitable motor and other components. Keep hands and debris away from moving parts.
Ready-to-run models include radio control and installed drive electronics. Check the included and required lists: some assembled boats need a separately purchased boat battery and charger, and transmitter batteries may also be separate. Almost-ready-to-run models need further equipment, while builder kits require assembly. Charge and complete the required setup before use.
An ARTR boat is partly equipped and needs additional components and setup before use. Missing equipment is model-specific and may include a radio transmitter and receiver, steering servo, boat battery and charger. Check the included and required lists for the exact package.
Only the components listed for the selected package are included. A hull-and-pump kit is different from a package that also includes a motor, speed controller or servo. Neither label promises a transmitter, receiver, battery or charger. Check both the included and required lists before ordering.
Self-righting is model-specific. Check the capsize-recovery row in the comparison and follow that model’s manual. Always have a safe way to retrieve a boat that capsizes or stops on the water.
Start in calm, clear freshwater. Follow the model’s operating guidance for suitable conditions and keep the intake away from sand, weeds and debris.
